I knew I'd be charged extra for choosing seats. But after I booked the flight I received a poorly written email from Smartfares saying the seat prices were just an estimate and I owed additional money for the final prices. I wasn't sure if the email was a scam or not. After receiving repeated emails I told them to go ahead and take the additional money. No other booking site has ever done that to me. I verified my reservation and it seems to be okay. I won't use Smartfares again.
Customer service result was good over the phone was very obvious they wanted me off the phone quickly. It stinks that it takes 7 to 15 days for a refund

BEst fares ever. Lowest from all the wesbite. Also the fare is real, not like when you go to book, it disappears or errors out which is very common in other sites.

My child is a decorated Marine and is overseas and I decided to use Smart Fare for the first time to get him home quickly for a family emergency. I booked the flight and immediately got a confirmation number, and the funds were deducted from my account. At that point I booked the other flights to finish the travel. More than 24 hours after booking I get a surprise email from Smart Fare saying there was a problem with my flight and the cost went up, so they canceled my flight. Now my Marine is STRANDED in SPAIN. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND IF THEY WOULD HAVE NOTIFIED ME WHEN THEY STOLE MY MONEY, I WOULD HAVE HAD ANOTHER CHANCE TO BOOK THE FLIGHT AND NOW IT IS SOLD OUT. DO NOT EVER USE THIS SITE. AFTER I REACHED OUT TO DISCUSS THE PROBLEM, THEY PUT ME ON HOLD FOR OVER 3 HOURS UNTIL I HUNG UP. I CAN'T BOOK ANOTHER FLIGHT BECAUSE THE FUNDS THEY TOOK ARE IN LIMBO FOR SEVERAL DAYS. THEY SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE BBB. HORRIBLE AND SHADY COMPANY TO SAY THE LEAST.

Answer: Yes. They stated because of flight increase they canceled my flights. Then they wanted me to pay a balance of what the new increase was. So disappointing. I paid for four fares. They took the funds from the bank n then canceled my flights.
