My experience with Gemini has been outrageously frustrating and unacceptable.
Despite submitting multiple formal requests to delete my account under Article 17 GDPR, and formally objecting to any further processing of my personal data under Article 21 GDPR, Gemini continues to refuse to comply. I have even explicitly and irrevocably waived any claim to any remaining account balance simply to ensure the account is closed and my data erased yet they still refuse to act.
Instead of providing a clear legal justification for their refusal, I receive nothing but generic, evasive, and seemingly automated responses.

The replies do not address the substance of my requests and appear designed to stall, deflect responsibility, and exhaust the customer.
This behavior demonstrates a blatant disregard for fundamental data protection rights under EU law.

The right to erasure is not optional, and it is not subject to arbitrary corporate delay tactics. The GDPR exists precisely to prevent this kind of conduct.
For a company operating in the financial and cryptocurrency sector where trust, compliance, and transparency should be non-negotiable this level of opacity and resistance to a lawful erasure request is deeply alarming.
I strongly caution other users to be aware of how their personal data may be handled when attempting to close an account or exercise their privacy rights.
An extremely disappointing and concerning experience from a data protection standpoint. Furthermore, it has already happened that they said they had been hacked and customer data (including mine) ended up on the dark web.

Stay away from this scam exchange if you don't want to lose your crypto. Gemini is not a safe place to store or trade your coin. Either you buy and the coin doesn't arrive in your wallet, or you transfer and the coin doesn't arrive in the destination wallet address, or you store your coin on their site and suddenly all your coins disappear without a trace, or they freeze your account for no reason and deny you access to your funds. You will only get one problem after another on this exchange. I know many people who have lost their coin here on this exchange and I have been a victim too...

Don't trust Gemini! I tried to send crypto but they put a security hold on my account. I jumped through every hoop and sent proof that this is my account multiple times like they requested and they still won't release the hold on MY money! Don't let Gemini steal your money too!

In august 2023 my account was frozed and i was denied access for reason i am still unaware communion, with va zer, trail lead 2 getting my customary dues. I dont advise the use of gemini as your platform.

Absolutely the worst bitcoin platform I have encountered. I recently opened an account with Gemini, and luckily I wanted to see how my experience with Gemini. Shortly after I could not log in. I received a splash screen saying " your account has been frozen" one week has passed and I've messaged Gemini support, as they do not even have a phone number anywhere, and to date no explanation why my account was frozen and I cannot access my funds. Gemini support refuses to give me a simple explanation as to why is going on. And this week was extremely important in the markets. Now I wonder if I'll even get the money I deposited back. DO NIT GIVE GEMINI YOUR MONEY, may as well just hand it to a stranger you cannot contact.
