Jess assisted me and was very attentive, empathetic, and educated. I was very satisfied with the service!
AVA from Freelancer.com Support was extremely helpful and professional. My identity verification was declined without a clear reason, and she immediately escalated the case to the relevant team, stayed with me in the chat, and followed up until it was fully resolved. The issue was approved during the same session. Fast response, clear communication, and real ownership of the problem. Really appreciate her support.
I contacted Freelancer Support regarding an issue with withdrawing my funds because the phone verification code was not arriving. JOAN assisted me promptly and professionally. She clearly explained what to check and reassured me throughout the process. Although the code arrived with some delay, she guided me on retry timing and possible network checks.
Her responses were polite, helpful, and very patient. I truly appreciate the support and kindness.
Thank you, JOAN, for your assistance!
Freelancer.com is an excellent tool for connecting with clients worldwide. The bidding process is straightforward, and the mobile app makes it easy to manage tasks on the go. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to start or grow their freelance career.
This site is a very nice place for a experienced freelancer to make money from it. Sadly I don't have enough skills, but I can feel it's a very good place to work with. Moreover, the support is very good too. I got help a lot by the staff, Joan, is very a nice guy/miss. We have a very helpful, efficiency talk about my problem.
Today I had the opportunity to be interviewed by Russell V, and I wanted to capture my thoughts while the experience is still fresh in my mind.
From the very beginning, Russell created a welcoming and professional atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. He started by introducing himself and giving a brief overview of the company culture, which helped set the context for our conversation.
Russell's interviewing style was both structured and conversational. He asked thoughtful questions that went beyond surface-level responses, really digging into my past experiences and how they might translate to the role we were discussing. What impressed me most was how attentively he listened – he took notes but maintained genuine eye contact, and his follow-up questions showed that he was truly engaging with my answers rather than just going through a checklist.
One question that stood out was when Russell asked me about a time I had to navigate a difficult situation with limited information. He seemed less interested in the specific outcome and more focused on understanding my thought process and decision-making framework. I appreciated this approach as it allowed me to showcase not just what I did, but how I think.
Russell also made sure to leave ample time for my questions, and when I asked about team dynamics and growth opportunities, he provided detailed, honest responses that gave me valuable insight into what it might be like to work there.
Overall, interviewing with Russell was a genuinely positive experience. Regardless of the outcome, I feel I gained a better understanding of the company and was able to authentically represent myself and my skills. I left the interview feeling respected and heard, which is really all you can hope for in any interview process.
JESS from team freelancer support is very helpful. I wish to get support from him whenever I need assistance either I have to wait for hours, but I still want him to assist me for any matter of mine
Hi Russell, thank you very much for your help with the verification process. I will proceed to complete the forms you shared.
I had an issue with my account regarding a negative balance caused by an automatic membership renewal. I was not aware of the renewal, and the payment was not successfully processed.
I contacted customer support, and JESS handled my case very professionally and kindly. She carefully understood my situation and processed a courtesy refund to waive the negative balance.
I truly appreciate the quick response, clear communication, and understanding shown by JESS. The issue was resolved smoothly, and I am very satisfied with the support I received.
Thank you once again for the excellent customer service.

She was polite, patient, and supportive throughout the conversation. Even though my issue was related to a client's delayed response, she guided me properly and made sure I understood my options.
Thank you, Margaux, for your assistance and professionalism.

I recently verified my payment method on Freelancer. The payment was debited from my account, and although an error message appeared initially, my account now shows the payment as verified. The process was mostly smooth.

They didn't help me with address verification. On the contrary, they deleted all the previous steps that I successfully completed.

Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
