CapitalOneShopping.com raises serious red flags, resembling a scam. Not every purchase is tracked, but the more alarming concern is that once you build up a significant cashback balance, they abruptly close your account, confiscating all your earnings. Their excuse is a vague claim of violating terms and conditions, yet they offer no detailed explanation. To make matters worse, the account termination notice comes from help at accounts.capitaloneshopping.com, an address that appears to be nonfunctional. Any attempt to reply is met with an error stating: "Address not found. Your message wasn't delivered because the address couldn't be found or is unable to receive mail. The response from the remote server was: 550 5. 1. 1 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable". It's best to steer clear. Opt instead for trustworthy cashback alternatives. While their cashback rates may be lower, they won't snatch your rewards, and they provide real cash payouts—unlike the mostly useless gift cards offered by CapitalOneShopping.com.

The 12% back using Capital One card for shopping through Expedia is a very big scam. I had a very bad experience using this card for a flight ticket.

There are too many reasons to list why they are a service to avoid at all costs, so will list just a few of the most important.
1. They don't acknowledge or pay the majority of offers you properly complete, especially if they are for larger amounts. I took them up on their offer to get a Sam's Cluib membership. Sam's Cluib was offering it at 50% off or a year for only $25. Additionally, CapOneShopping was offering an additional $25 rebate, thus making it free. I followed the correct linkm through their site and bought the 1 year membership. It immediately showed up on my list as pending. A day later, it mysteriously vanished. Emails to them were answered by bots that ignored my actual situation, merely telling me to wait 30 days and send them the receipt along with my "Trip ID #" from my pending list. But, of course that was impossible since it mysteriously disappeared. I wrote again to explain that fact and simply got another copy of the exact same bot reply. So, I waited the 30 days and wrote again, this time including the Sam's Club receipt and explaining the situation of the magically disappearing Trip ID#. That hasn't even solicited a bot response. It has been met with total silence.
2. A second major reason to avoid them is to avoid their browser extension that shows you if you can get a better price on an item you are looking at somewhere else or even if you can get a rebate from them. The problem is that they are monitoring each and every site you ever visit - major privacy concerns there. Then, when you do make a purchase, you inevitably get an email offer from them the very next day with an offer for the item you have already purchased. I have received as many as 10 emails from them a day!
They are obviously profitting by sending business to different merchants, but when it comes to actually crediting you for purchases, you can forget it unless it under a couple of bucks and, even then, you only have about a 50/50 chance. The largest "reward" I have been actually credited with is $1.07, while anything over that (and there are ones for $19.95, $25.00, $30.00, etc.) all remain in perpetual "pending" status and when you question them, you either get a bot that either ignores the issue or they simply ignore you altogether.
So, unless you want to get cheated out of what you rightfully earned, get mailbombed daily and have your web browsing privacy totally violated, I would advise you steer clear. It sounds good going in, but it's all a scam!
BTW, TopCashBack, another such service, is just as bad.

This browser shopping extension (used to save you money on purchases by trying coupons & offers special promotions on partners), is iffy at best. Sometimes it works fine & you get a rebate for a gift card. But There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. They have No Phone Number to call. All you can do is email them or 'chat' with a bot. Emails are NOT read and/or understood, or they are Also answered by bots. I made a purchase through a link on their website. It brought me to the appropriate website & I then made the purchase. NO REBATE. When you email them, they give you a canned answer, & you can tell they didn't read what you wrote, or they are a bot. Ultimately I didn't get the rebate I should have gotten.
